Forklift Water Pump - The water pump is attached to the crankshaft of the engine. It is a simple centrifugal pump which is driven by a belt that is connected to the crankshaft. If the engine is running, fluid is circulated by the pimp.
Using centrifugal force, the water pump sends water to the outside as it rotates causing the fluid to be constantly drawn from the pumps center. The pump inlet is placed near the center. This particular design enables fluid coming back from the radiator to hit the pump vanes. The pump vanes are strategically positioned to fling the fluid outside of the pump so it enters the engine.
The fluid that is exiting the pump primarily flows through the engine block and cylinder head. Then the fluid travels into the radiator and finally circulates back to the pump.
